internships.

To me, internships are stressful. Nix that....college is stressful. I feel like you breeze by with one goal in mind: pass the test. Pass the project. Pass the class. My adviser is a good adviser in the sense that she tells me what classes to take, gives me advice on how to schedule my classes, etc. But I started thinking the other day...."Uhhh, what happens after all these classes are finished?"

So I took it upon myself to look around for potential jobs/internships. I went to NFL's Web site, and took a gander at intership opportunities. Some of the positions they're trying to get filled look absolutely splendid! (Yes, I just sounded like an English woman) But the application process is pretty generic. What I mean by generic is "This is to weed the losers out. If the answers to the six questions we ask and your resume aren't completely outstanding, you have no chance of even being considered to get a job. Oh, or you could just know somebody who knows somebody who knows somethin' 'bout it." Yeah. Ya gotta know people.

So I feel like I should just make it my goal in the next couple of days to make my resume and lack of experience on it, sound completely outstanding. A task which I'm sure I cannot do. Whee.

My PR professor told us the other day: "One of my past students, who know has an amazing job working in the PR department for Greyhound, said 'I got here because of the right internship with the right people.'" Real inspiring. Who did she know?
