To me, internships are stressful. Nix that....college is stressful. I feel like you breeze by with one goal in mind: pass the test. Pass the project. Pass the class. My adviser is a good adviser in the sense that she tells me what classes to take, gives me advice on how to schedule my classes, etc. But I started thinking the other day...."Uhhh, what happens after all these classes are finished?"
So I took it upon myself to look around for potential jobs/internships. I went to NFL's Web site, and took a gander at intership opportunities. Some of the positions they're trying to get filled look absolutely splendid! (Yes, I just sounded like an English woman) But the application process is pretty generic. What I mean by generic is "This is to weed the losers out. If the answers to the six questions we ask and your resume aren't completely outstanding, you have no chance of even being considered to get a job. Oh, or you could just know somebody who knows somebody who knows somethin' 'bout it." Yeah. Ya gotta know people.
So I feel like I should just make it my goal in the next couple of days to make my resume and lack of experience on it, sound completely outstanding. A task which I'm sure I cannot do. Whee.
My PR professor told us the other day: "One of my past students, who know has an amazing job working in the PR department for Greyhound, said 'I got here because of the right internship with the right people.'" Real inspiring. Who did she know?

cozying more than my toes.
it's not about the fashion of the situation. it's not really even about the color.
it's just about the c.o.m.f.o.r.t. i believe slippers speak volumes about you.
maybe you, fellow readers, think it's nonsense. well i think your bare, cold, nasty footsies are nonsense. and my warm, fuzzy, cozy, blissful toesies are cool. and badass.

frenemies? enemies?

so it's not like i like having an enemy. she has just been there for a long time. and att imes i think "gosh it would be easier not really really disliking someone" and i don't ever think about it, but lately i have been. and i wish i didn't have her.
this girl to the left is not an enemy. i just wish those times were back because they were fun.

redundancy and ridiculousness
so sometimes i hate grammar. i shouldn't say that because i'm a copy editor. but i don't think the editor-in-chief is following this.....jaclyn?? are you out there?
there is this booklet/compilation of shiz that my professor put together. here are a few things that are incorrectly used by almost 100% of the population. (ok, i made that up, but they're pretty wild.):
ridiculous right? if i said to someone, "hey i'm so anxious to get my paycheck. i have been chomping at the bit for weeks. there are over 50 employees who get paid today"....i think they would understand. please, fellow readers, let me know if you would not understand that and would question my intelligence if i said that.
in other news, i want a cheeseburger. i haven't had a cheesburger and fries and a soda in....ages. i think my bowel system would be effed up for weeks if i gave in to that urge.
until next time...

- anxious and eager are not interchangeable. anxious means something with fear. eager means excited, not fearful.
- the correct phrase is "chAmping at the bit" not "chOmping."
- eyewitness is a redundant reference. this is so because you never say "there were earwitnesses" or "nosewitnesses." witnesses are always witnesses because of their eyes.
- "maximum capacity" is redundant. capacity means being fulled to the maximum amount.
- and my favorite....you're never supposed to use "over" unless referring to something spacial. there are more than 4,000 people in the room, not over.

tryouts.
so i'm a slacker.
i'm taking a class called "popular fiction: crimes, criminals and mysteries." sounds sweet huh? uhh, my professor is a character from one of my books. and not the good heroic kind, but the creepy, rapist kind. ouch that was harsh.
i forgot my pillow out in the car. i would go get it but it's too far. i'll take the inevitable crick in my neck.
i want to drink three red bulls tonight. because even though i'm not tired....why the hell not?
i wonder if anyone will read this. not gonna lie, i hope they don't. because if they don't this can be like an online diary and no one will know about it so i can write exactly what i'm thinking, without censoring myself and without being politically, or for that matter, gramatically correct.
so...stop reading this, please. :)
